Why use an ePortfolio?

An ePortfolio is a reflection of ourselves

After looking at several examples of ePortfolios, I am reflecting on the work that we’re doing as educators. This work is crucial for future generations, not to focus on the information but to become long-life learners. Let’s pause and think about what we’re doing. We’re so used to creating steps for people/students to follow, ensuring that the completion is evidence of learning. Still, a change is needed because people need to collaborate to obtain in-depth knowledge.

I started creating an ePortfolio based on the impact that it can cause on my audience’s life but because of the effects for me. As an adult, I was totally out of my comfort zone, doing something that I could hire someone else to do. Instead, I had to learn about websites, web design, templates, try different templates, and spend hours looking at many examples and at the end choice, voice, and ownership. This platform is not just a website about me; it is my way of showing myself to the world and myself. I am discovering a new talent that shares what I’m learning and learning as I’m doing. This ePortfolio is becoming a constant cycle that improves my practice as an educator and as a person.
