Contribution to My Learning Community Spring 2021

The journey continued with 5304 and 5302. Dr. Harapnuik set the stage once more with four excellent books (The influencer, The 4 Disciplines of Execution, Crucial Conversations, and Start with Why). Dr. Bedard opened our perspective with Midset. Our collaboration started with the books as we knew ahead of time what was required to read.

Our first weekly meeting was to understand how these books will be part of our implementation with my small Professional Learning Communities (Brianna, Colby, Wayne, Allison, Lindsey, Jarrett, and Bianca). We created a second GroupMe and Decided to maintain this group for the rest of the master program, communicating 24/7 to answer questions, making some changes in WordPress, and constantly sending our links before making any Submissions. This has helped us a lot because, in many cases, we were able to find mistakes or change our perspective on the assignment. During one of our last meetings, we influenced two team members to switch to WordPress, as they were unable to solve a problem regarding the navigation menu with WIX, which is pretty much standard with this company.

Having a new professor was exciting and an excellent opportunity to share everything we have done in 5305 with a new cohort in course 5302. There were many questions we were able to answer. In some cases, we had some of our teammates inviting people new to the master program, like Amanda B., which joined our group sessions three times to clarify the expectations for 5305 with Dr. Bedard.

In 5302, my Growth Mindset plan directly compliments my Learning Manifesto; with the help of Luis Herrera, I was able to put together my learning Manifesto video, as he provided a clear example of what we can achieve with Canva. I was able to share this way with my passion for Education, Technology, and the importance of maintaining the focus.

In 5304, my entire Learning community struggled in our Lag Measure and lead Measure, as we were looking into the connections other people have made in the past. Some of us work on those earlier than others, and they were able to submit their work to get some feedback from Dr. Harapnuik. Fortunately, to help each other, they shared the link with the video feedback. This was helpful as it provided clarity on the assignment. Thank you, Brianna and Allison!!

In our learning communities, we are creating an environment to allow adults to have a choice, ownership, voice, and authentic learning opportunities. This is the biggest Takeaway of both classes based on the collaboration and experiences of every person involved in my learning process.
